Apart from her many talents, she has been exceptionally vocal on social issues and has always stood up for the oppressed people of Pakistan and abroad. Recently, the Punjab Nahi Jaungi superstar has spoken at length of the Indian brutality on Kashmiris at various international platforms undermining the fascist government of India.

Mehwish Hayat has just added another feather in her cap as the Ministry of Human Rights appointed her the Goodwill Ambassador for girls. She took to Twitter to reveal the great news.

Following her appointment, she attended Girls Child Awareness Program along with the Minister of Human Rights Shireen Mazari. She posted a few photos on Instagram expressing pleasure and excitement for becoming a part of such initiative for girls. She wrote, “Pleasure to be at the launch of the Ministry of Human Rights’ new initiatives for the girl child and share the panel with some really inspirational and distinguished women.”

“I was really impressed to see how the project is using innovative ways like truck art to get the message out. There is so much that needs to be done and I really am looking forward to being very proactive and doing a lot more for this cause in my role as goodwill ambassador,” she continued.

The starlet was awarded the Pride of Performance accolade in Norway in August. She also received Tamgha e Imtiaz for her contributions to the entertainment industry by the President.

She also featured in the list of top five influential Muslim women in the world by an international magazine, The Muslim Vibe, last month.

More power to Mehwish Hayat!
