Surkh Chandni certainly is a magnum opus in the history of Pakistani television for, it caters a harsh reality of our society with complete subtlety. The drama delves not just in the life of a helpless acid attack victim, but also in the lives of her family members. Perhaps Surkh Chandni can be called the journey of a person from an acid attack victim to an acid attack survivor.

It is the love story of Aida and Amaan but tranquility does not come easy at all. Surkh Chandni is the depiction of the brutal society we live in, a society that does not let anyone live in harmony. However, in the end, Aida wins marvelously and miraculously tarnishing the stereotypical life of oppression women endure, after such incidents.

Following the befitting end of Surkh Chandni, the spectacular Sohai Ali Abro took to Instagram to talk about the journey of Aida. She wrote, “Here’s a peek into behind the scenes of the play where I sat on this chair for almost 4 hours to get the prosthetic makeup to achieve the right look for the character.”

“I can’t even begin to imagine what the actual acid attack survivors have to live with,” she said, empathizing with the acid attack survivors.

She went on to thank her SFX artists for all the research and hard work they had to put in each day to create this look.

In a separate post, the starlet also paid homage to the ensemble cast of Surkh Chandni. “A big shout out to my incredible co-actors and team of #surkhchandni for working on this with so much heart and soul and making this such a memorable and special experience for all of us. I love you fam! Thanks to each and every one of you,” she wrote.
