In ARY Digital’s hit serial Dr. Bahu, the plot brilliantly unravels the image of an elite, highly educated family of medical professionals to reveal deep hidden problems While the household prides itself on status and intellect, Dr. Faizan (Adeel Husain) stands out as the ultimate personification of this hypocrisy.
Faizan is a successful doctor holding a prestigious position at his father’s oncology hospital. On paper, his background should make him a progressive, open-minded partner. Yet, his relationship with his first wife, Dr. Minha (Hajra Yamin), tells a completely different story.
Watching Faizan handle a problem is incredibly exhausting. He never stops to think logically. Instead, he makes rushed, terrible decisions. It makes you wonder if he even knows how to have an honest conversation. When he needs to speak up, he runs away and hides his feelings. Then, he explodes at the worst possible time. He acts like a classic “man-child,” leaving the women in the show and the audience completely tired of him.
The true depth of Faizan’s shallow character is exposed through his secret second marriage to Amber (Mira Sethi). For a long time, Faizan quietly hoards this massive secret like currency, letting Minha live a lie while he builds an entirely separate life.
When the truth finally shatters, revealing not only the secret nikkah but also that Amber is pregnant, the audience’s frustration reaches a boiling point. What makes the betrayal so devastating is how coldly and deliberately he normalizes it. Faizan doesn’t feel a shred of genuine remorse for fracturing his household; he simply expects the women in his life to adjust to his whims, further highlighting his narcissistic entitlement.
Faizan’s character shows exactly how a lack of trust and terrible communication can destroy a family. It feels like watching a slow-motion car crash. Ironically, these doctors can diagnose complex medical diseases under a microscope. Yet, they are completely blind to the emotional rot tearing their own home apart.
Most of this misery could be avoided if Faizan just had the courage to sit down for five minutes and speak the unfiltered truth. But his big ego and lack of courage always get in the way. That is why he remains one of the most frustrating, intensely debated characters on television.
